Grammar Nazi

 Dear readers,

When I was in my freshman year of college, one thing I've remembered was that one of our instructors tasked us with listening to a music video, which was 'Grammar Nazi by Reese Lansangan.' I must confess, I had little knowledge of the song or the artist at the time. However, the moment I hit that play button and her voice filled my ears, I was genuinely amazed. Her voice is indeed pleasing and comforting to listen to, and she eventually became one of my favorite artists. But there was a nagging question that echoed in my mind: why were we asked to listen to this? What was the point, and how did it relate to my coursework? It was a mystery I was eager to solve. So, I dove into the lyrics, listening closely, and the answer suddenly became clear to me.

Lansangan didn't just compose a certain song; she also made a sensible one. This song highlights the importance of using proper grammar usage in a playful manner. This song is her way of reminding people how important it is to always use good grammar in communication, especially as many people nowadays frequently make grammatical mistakes and mispronounce words. This isn't meant as hate towards them, but rather to emphasize that there is a correct and proper method for forming English sentences and enunciating words accurately.

Another question popped into my head, like, how had I never come across Reese Lansangan until now? Her talent is undeniable, and I couldn't resist humming along to her songs. I listened to all of her songs, and she's just too great. The way she composes songs is a clever way to tell us to remember the importance of using good grammar in everyday conversations. This pushed me to think thoroughly about why this kind of masterpiece should be the most-viewed YouTube video. Aside from its melodic tune, it also adds slap to our vocabulary. I hope Lansangan's songs receive the recognition they truly deserve. This kind of music should be mainstreamed in social media more, as it can be a potential tool that can enrich the vocabulary of its listeners, and it deserves to be in the spotlight. So, if you're looking for a song that is melodious and can serve you a bit of knowledge, this one is for you. Happy Listening!
  Best Regards,
Mekyla Jane Ticar
